Spring Flowers: The Best Reasons to Send Blooms in April

Spring is a season for new beginnings. And what better way to celebrate than by sending spring flowers from Scarlett’s Flowers in Bradenton, FL? April is full of holidays and special events, and each one offers a unique reason to send blooms. Here are some of our favorite reasons to send April flowers this year along with a few of our favorite flowers for each occasion!

Easter – Sunday, April 17

Easter is a time for family, friends, faith, and flowers! But did you know that Easter is the fourth biggest floral holiday of the year? And while it may not get the same recognition as Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, Christmas, or other national holidays, flowers and Easter plants have long played a very important role in Easter and Passover observances. They are synonymous with the holidays in both home decorations and as gifts.

Farm Fresh Double Headed Tulips from Scarlett’s Flowers in Bradenton, FL

Our favorites Easter flower arrangements include Easter lilies, tulips, and daffodils. Lilies are popular symbols of Easter as they represent love, hope, and resurrection, making them the perfect gift for this spring holiday. White lilies are especially symbolic during Easter because they signify purity and divinity.

Tulips represent springtime and new beginnings, which makes them an ideal gift for anyone starting a new chapter in their life. Daffodils are associated with springtime and rebirth, making them an ideal gift for someone who has overcome a difficult time. No matter who you are celebrating Easter with, Easter bouquets are the perfect way to show your loved ones how much you care. Easter flower delivery is also available.

Administrative Professionals Day – Wednesday, April 27

Whether you call it Administrative Professionals Day, Admin Day, Admin Pro Day, or even National Secretary’s Day, this holiday honors all of the people working behind the scenes in offices and corporations. By recognizing the work of executive assistants, administrative assistants, personal assistants, secretaries, receptionists, customer service specialists, as well as other administrative support professionals. In many instances, this observance lasts an entire week, becoming national secretaries week, or administrative professionals week.

There are many ways to celebrate the administrative professionals in your workplace, but flowers are a foolproof way to make them feel extra special! Some of the best flowers you can send for Administrative Professionals Day include pink or peach roses, daisies, and yellow lilies.

Pink and peach roses represent appreciation and gratitude, making them the perfect way to say “thank you” to your administrative team. Daisies symbolize innocence, loyal love, and purity, making them a great gift for someone you admire and respect. Yellow lilies are associated with happiness and well-wishes, making them a perfect pick-me for professional associates.

Prom – Dates Vary

Prom season is one of our favorite times of year because we love working with excited (and usually nervous) students who may not have ever experienced buying flowers from a professional florist. We know that can be a scary endeavor for teenagers who may not know a lily from a lilac, but fortunately, we’re here to help!

Beloved Blooms corsage by Scarlett’s Flowers in Bradenton, FL

Modern prom flowers are available in a variety of different forms but typically consist of a wrist corsage for the ladies and a matching boutonniere for the gentlemen.

Traditionally, the colors and flowers used in the prom corsage and boutonniere are matched to the color of the prom dress; but like most rules, this one was definitely made to be broken.

Today’s corsages and boutonnieres are limited only by the imagination and the flowers available to the florist. However, it’s important to keep in mind that prom night is centered around dancing, so the flowers should not only be beautiful, but also functional enough to withstand an entire evening of festivities.

Mother’s Day – Sunday, May 8

While technically not in April, Mother’s Day arrives in early May this year as it falls on Sunday, May 8. This holiday is the perfect opportunity to celebrate mothers and show your mom, step-mom, grandmother, or any of the other incredible mother figures in your life just how much you appreciate them.

There are a lot of ways to show your mom you care on Mother’s Day. From taking her out to brunch to giving her a day of pampering. But one thoughtful way to make her feel extra special is by sending her flowers. All mothers deserve a beautiful bouquet on their special day, but if you want to go above and beyond, consider sending flowers that have a special meaning.

For example, did you know that red roses symbolize love and appreciation? Pink roses represent gratitude, joy, and admiration, making them the perfect way to say “thank you” for all that your mother has done for you. Yellow roses are associated with friendship and happiness, making them a great gift for mothers who are also friends.

Blue hydrangeas represent understanding and patience – two qualities that all mothers possess. No matter what type of flowers you choose to send your mom this Mother’s Day, she is sure to appreciate the gesture!

Whatever your reason, say it with flowers this April with the help of your friends at Scarlett’s Flowers. No matter the occasion, we’re here to help you find the perfect gift this spring. Same-day delivery is available in Bradenton, FL and surrounding areas, or anywhere in the USA for birthdays, anniversaries, new babies, get well wishes, sympathy, or even just to make someone smile.

Weddings

10 Wedding Planning Tips from a Professional Wedding Florist

Did you recently get engaged? Are you planning your wedding and feeling overwhelmed? No need to worry, you’re not alone. Planning a wedding can be stressful and intimidating at first, but it can – and should – also be a lot of fun!

If you’re planning a wedding, you know how important it is to have beautiful flowers. But what if you’re not sure how to go about working with a professional florist? Here are some pro tips from the experienced floral wedding designers at Scarlett’s Flowers in Bradenton, FL that will help make the process easier and ensure that your wedding flowers are absolutely perfect on your big day!

1: Work with your florist to create a custom theme that reflects your personality and style.

Your wedding day is all about you and your spouse-to-be, so it’s important that your flowers reflect your unique personality and style. Work with your local florist to create a custom wedding theme that you love. This will be the starting point for all of your other wedding decisions, from your invitations to your reception décor.

2: Communicate clearly with your florist about what you want, including the colors and types of flowers you prefer.

It’s important that you communicate your vision for your wedding flowers clearly with your wedding florist. Be as specific as possible about the colors and types of flowers you prefer, as well as any other details that are important to you. Using pictures from Pinterest or other sources will help your florist create custom arrangements that are exactly what you’re looking for while including all your favorite flowers!

3: Be open to suggestions from your florist; they may have some great ideas that will enhance your wedding flowers.

Although you should always give your florist a clear idea of what you want, it’s also important to be open to their suggestions as well. They may have some great ideas that will enhance your wedding flowers and help make the day even more special. Plus, there is a good chance they have worked with the venue in the past and are familiar with the features and limitations of each venue.

4: Make sure to give your florist plenty of notice so they can order the necessary flowers and prepare for your wedding day.

It’s always a good idea to give your florist plenty of notice so they can order the necessary flowers and prepare for your wedding day. As a general guideline, we recommend giving at least four months notice to ensure that everything is perfect on your big day, but that may vary depending on individual circumstances. Your florist will typically let you know how much time you need when you meet for your initial consultation.

5: Discuss budget restrictions with your florist and work together to come up with a plan that fits within your budget.

It’s important to discuss any budget restrictions with your florist so you can work together to come up with a plan that fits your budget. Don’t be afraid to ask for suggestions on how to save money while still getting the flowers you want. Many florists are happy to work with couples to create beautiful wedding flowers on any budget, and in many cases they may be able to recommend less expensive flowers that still look great.

6: Don’t forget to factor in the cost of your wedding flowers when creating your overall wedding budget.

Don’t forget to include the expense of your wedding flowers when creating your budget for your big day. For many couples, wedding flowers account for an average of 8-15% of their total budget! Keep this in mind when planning so you can allocate an amount you are comfortable spending. Big cuts to this part of the budget could have serious consequences to the overall look and feel of the event.

7: Trust your florist to take care of all the flower arrangements for your wedding day; this will free up time for you to focus on other details.

One of the best things you can do is trust your florist to take care of all the flower arrangements for your wedding day. This will free up time for you to focus on other details and make sure that everything else goes smoothly. You have enough to do on your wedding day, so let someone else worry about the flowers (we got this)!

8: Have a backup plan in case of inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

Although you can’t control the weather, you can control what happens if it becomes a threat. Having a backup plan in case of inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances will help ensure that your wedding day is perfect no matter what happens.

9: Don’t DIY your wedding flowers – leave this one to the experts

We’re big fans of DIY projects for just about anything – except wedding flowers! In this case it’s better to leave it to the experts for several different reasons.

While it may be possible to save a little money by doing the work yourself, what you won’t be saving is time. If you don’t have experience with wedding flower arranging, it isn’t quite as easy as it looks. Which means the results may look more like a DIY project and less like your vision of the perfect wedding.

10: Relax and enjoy your big day – everything else will fall into place!

On your wedding day, the most important thing is to relax and enjoy yourselves – everything else will fall into place. Congratulations, newlyweds!

We hope these tips were helpful as you begin planning your own wedding. Wishing you all the best on this wonderful journey. Contact us today to schedule a free consultation and start discussing your wedding flowers!

Flowers, Valentine's Day

7 Pro Tips From Your Local Florist for Longer Lasting Flowers

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner which means it’s time to start thinking about flowers! If you’ve ever received flowers, you know the feeling of excitement that comes with seeing a beautiful arrangement delivered to your home or office. But what if the joy of receiving flowers could last longer?

Most people know the basics for keeping flowers alive longer: changing the water, keeping it in a cool place, and not leaving them in direct sunlight. But here are a few pro tips from the experienced floral designers at Scarlett’s Flowers in Bradenton, FL that will help make your flowers last as long as possible.

1. Choose a clear vase

One of the most obvious ways to make roses and other flowers last longer is by using a clear vase with a lot of water. Why clear? Because opaque vases make it much more difficult to monitor the water level – which almost always leads to under-watering and faster perishing flowers.

2. Condition your water (use flower food)

Red Roses and Stargazer Lilies from Scarlett’s Flowers in Bradenton, FL

Tap water is great for flowers, but nutrients are necessary if you want to extend their life. Flower food packets are just three ingredients mixed together to make a perfect environment for cut flowers. Bleach (bactericide) kills any bacteria or mold while sugar provides energy and water retention. Citric acid dissolves air bubbles and balances the pH level of the water.

To make more flower food at home, simply mix 1 teaspoon of sugar with 1 teaspoon of bleach and 2 teaspoons of lemon or lime juice with a quarter cup of warm water until fully dissolved.

3. Refresh them every day

Just a few minutes of care each day can have a substantial effect on the life of your flowers. Refreshing the water, trimming the stems, and adding new flower food, will prevent bacteria and keep your flowers looking their best.

Unlike many houseplants, it is nearly impossible to “over-water” your cut flowers (unless water is spilling over the top of the vase) so the bigger concern is not giving them enough. If you cannot give them a refresh every day then at least make sure they have plenty of water at all times.

4. Remove any leaves below the water line

If you’re looking for ways to make roses and other cut flowers last longer, this is a big one that often gets overlooked; cut off any leaves that are below the surface of the water, these will rot and cause bacteria growth which will shorten the life of your flowers.

5. Only touch the stems

Touching a flower is like touching fabric – it can be delicate and cause damage if you aren’t careful. It is important to avoid touching flowers except when removing them from their vase for trimming or fresh water. Touching these delicate pieces of art can easily cause damage and shorten the life of your flowers, so use stems as handles when you need to touch them instead of heads or petals.

6. Use pruning shears or your sharpest scissors

When cutting the stems, make sure to use a very sharp pair of scissors or knife if you do not have pruning shears available. Dull blades can crush the stems and damage them – which will also shorten their life span. Cutting the stems with a sharp implement not only ensures that you’ll get an even cut, but it also helps prevent them from getting crushed.

Cutting stems at least an inch from the bottom will allow otherwise clogged plants to reopen and absorb more water. Cutting them with a 45 degree angle creates larger openings near the base, which allows for greater absorption due to a larger exposed surface area.

7. Create a healthy environment

Your flowers’ environment plays a considerable role in how long they will last. Positioning your floral arrangement in a location where it won’t be exposed to direct sunlight will help prevent it from wilting prematurely.

Flowers have a special talent for retaining heat. If you’re trying to slow down the decay process, place your flowers in an area with temperatures between 50 and 70 degrees Fahrenheit–but don’t worry if they’re room-temperature. It is also important to keep your flowers away from any fruits or vegetables because they release ethylene gas as they ripen – which poisons cut flowers and expedites wilting and browning.

By following these seven simple steps, you can keep your fresh flowers looking vibrant for as long as possible. Don’t forget that Valentine’s Day is just around the corner on Monday, February 14.

Now is the perfect time to send flowers with the best flower delivery and beautiful blooms from your local florist. At Scarlett’s Flowers we offer same day flower delivery for Valentine’s Day flowers as well as birthdays, anniversaries, get well soon wishes, sympathy, or just to make someone smile in Bradenton, FL and surrounding areas.

Toast 2022 With the Color of the Year: Very Peri

After a year of indecision in 2021 when the Pantone Color Institute couldn’t pick between “Illuminating” (yellow) and “Ultra Gray” as Color of the Year, the “color experts” at the Pantone Color Institute returned to their customary selection of a lone color to represent 2022. Their choice? Very Peri (PANTONE 17-3938), a shade of blue with violet red undertones, not unlike what most people call periwinkle.

How did the color experts choose Very Peri for the 2022 Color of the Year? Pantone Color Executive Director Leatrice Eiseman explains:

“As we move into a world of unprecedented change, the selection of PANTONE 17-3939 Very Peri brings a novel perspective and vision of the trusted and beloved blue color family, encompassing the qualities of the blues, yet at the same time with its violet red undertone, encourages courageous creativity and imaginative expressions.”

Pantone chose bright and soothing colors last year to symbolize a renewed sense of hope and optimism following the worldwide Covid-19 pandemic that changed the world considerably in 2020.

This year’s selection of Very Peri builds on that sentiment by symbolizing carefree confidence and daring curiosity to help us embrace the altered landscape of new opportunities and possibilities.

Very Peri is a Sign of the Times

In these transformative times, Very Peri symbolizes the worldwide spirit of the moment and the transition that we are experiencing together. As emerging from a period of intense isolation, our standards and our notions are changing, and our digital and physical lives have merged in unexpected ways.

Beautiful in Blue from Scarlett’s Flowers in Bradenton, FL features the 2022 Color of the Year, Very Peri.

In a world where trends are emerging from the digital to become reality, Very Peri has taken it one step further by fusing modern life with how color choices manifest themselves in our physical surroundings.

Very Peri is both playful and fresh, making it the perfect color to inject life into your home. It works best in a variety of materials with different textures or finishes like painted walls, furniture accents (like accent pillows) as well as when used for decoration on patterns in designs.

Very Peri, a warm and friendly blue hue with carefree confidence, emboldens uninhibited expression. Displaying dynamic presence in shades of shimmery metallics to high tech materials; it is an enthusiastic color that lends itself for unpredictable color harmonies when used on different surfaces like natural fibers or handcrafted items alike!

Very Peri in the Floral Industry

Very Peri is an intriguing color that we sometimes take for granted until we give it a second look. Natural examples of this color can be found almost everywhere, but some of our favorites we see everyday in the floral industry. Here are a few of our favorites:

Periwinkle

There are many fine examples of Very Peri in the floral industry, but the closest match would have to be periwinkles. Periwinkles are flowers that bloom in the spring. They are “periwinkle blue” (or Very Peri) with white stars on the petals and are often used for decorative purposes in floral arrangements. A periwinkle flower arrangement can make a home feel bright and happy, even if it is raining outside. For this reason periwinkles are popular flowers to include in any floral bouquet that you purchase from your local florist shop, online, or at a street market.

Delphinium

Delphinium flowers are beautiful and delicate, but they need something to attach themselves to in order to grow strong. They love sunny places with well-drained soil for at least half of the day time; however these tall plants do poorly under hot weather conditions or rainy days.

For best results you’ll probably want them near some shelter like an apartment complex’s rooftop garden area where there is always plenty happening (and also some shade).

Iris

The Iris is a flower that comes in many colors and has the ability to bring freshness into your home or garden. The flowers vary depending on their height, making them perfect for any type of arrangement you may want done with this beautiful plant!

Irises can grow from six inches all the way up to four feet tall which means there’s something available no matter how large or small an area needs updating right now.

Additionally these lovely plants come equipped not only one but two different types: blue irises tend toward being more acidic soil alkaline while pink counterparts prefer slightly less rigorous conditions

Hydrangea

Hydrangeas are the most beloved of all shrubs for their beauty and versatility. They come in a wide range of colors, including blue-hued hydrangea varieties that can be used as accent plants or along side larger flowers such as roses; vibrant pink blooms during springtime when other plant life begins to take shape again after winter’s cold snap–hydrangeas make great fresh cut flower bouquets too!

Hydrangeas also perform well even without much care—they’re hardy enough not only at home but anywhere else you might find yourself growing them!

Hyacinths

Hyacinths are gorgeous flowers that have been admired by royal families throughout the ages. They’re also a must for gardens in palaces and parks, but today you can find them everywhere from your home garden to indoor pots! Their distinctive scent cannot be mistaken; it adds another layer of beautiful floral blossoming during springtime – which is when these amazing plants first start coming out layers on top of one another like an opened tabby cat waiting patiently at its feet before slowly lurching into full bloom with rich colors.

Do not miss out on the hottest new color trend for 2022: Very Peri! Scarlett’s Flowers has many beautiful floral designs featuring this intriguing color. Flowers

Flowers From Scarlett’s Flowers in Bradenton, FL Make Every Occasion Special

Flowers are fascinating. Like snowflakes, no two are exactly alike and each one stands alone as a magnificent work of art. But when you combine several flowers together in a bouquet, the magic truly comes alive with a dazzling array of colors, shapes, and scents that are just a bit different than anything ever created before. Its alluring display will catch your eye from across the room, inviting a closer look after eliciting your emotions.

Perhaps one of the reasons we are so drawn to the beauty of flowers is the emotional response they provoke. There is no feeling in the world quite like receiving a dozen red roses from someone you love. In that moment, no words are even necessary because the flowers say it all.

They help in other times too when we can’t find the right words to say. Sympathy flowers and plants serve as a perfect memorial that not only solidifies the love and devotion of family and friends, but also helps to provide a tranquil, peaceful setting for the remembrance of a beautiful life.

For the living, flowers have a remarkable impact on our moods and emotions and their positive effect on our mental health as a whole is nothing short of incredible. One study conducted by Rutgers University determined that every single one of the 150 test participants expressed happiness upon receiving even a single flower. The reaction was universal among all age groups and included both men and women and confirmed the possibility that flowers may even affect brain chemistry.

Other studies have shown that in addition to making us happy, flowers are also proven to: help reduce stress and lower blood pressure, fuel creative and quick thinking, increase focus, trigger memory, make employees more productive, and even lower blood pressure!

When it comes to flowers, the act of giving can be more beneficial than receiving. A study by Texas A&M University concluded that “givers” were perceived as successful, caring, and emotionally intelligent people who not only possess the ability to express their own feelings, but also take the time and care to understand the feelings of others.

Further studies have also indicated that we can actually influence and change what others think of us in a significant way through the gifts we give. And perhaps no other gifts have the same ability to evoke such positive perceptions and feelings as flowers.

A World of Variety

With so many different colors, shapes, sizes, and varieties of flowers available from around the world, it’s hard to choose a favorite. Many of our most popular selections, like our gorgeous roses from Ecuador, are available year around. While others, such as our Dutch tulips are only available seasonally – which makes them even more special.

In many cases, the varieties of flowers change with the season, but in other instances the only seasonal difference is the color. Red and white roses and carnations are excellent selections for the holidays and Valentine’s Day while orange and yellow varieties of the same flowers help welcome in the autumn season and along with favorite Fall festivities such as Halloween and Thanksgiving.

While some of our special flowers are imported all the way from Colombia and Ecuador, a vast majority of the cut flowers available in our shop are from right here in the USA. In fact, the state of California with its warm climate throughout the year, produces about 75% of the flowers available domestically, while many of the rest are grown in Washington, Florida, and Hawaii.

Most Popular Types of Flowers

In addition to the versatile roses and carnations that are popular all year long, we have a few other favorites to mention that are some of our most popular selections. You can find all of these in more at our shop as we always have them fresh in-season.

Tulip

A sure sign of spring, tulips come from Holland and can be found in every color of the rainbow. The Royal Horticultural Association of Holland recognizes over 3,000 different varieties of tulips ranging in color from pure white to a dark red that almost appears black to the eye. Some varieties of tulips even have different shades or colors in the same bloom.

Sunflower

The unmistakable sunflower is a truly a beauty to behold. Its vibrant yellow petals provide a vivid backdrop for its remarkable face that is always striving to follow the sun. It symbolizes loyalty, but that’s probably not the reason why sunflowers are some of the most popular flowers available today. The appeal is more obvious – they’re sunny and bright and simply make you smile.

Daisy

Daisies are another flower with the power to make people happy. It’s no coincidence because they are the little cousins of the sunflower and share many similar features. The slender white petals of the daisies draw the eye to the yellow or orange center. Daisies start blooming in late spring and continue to bloom until early fall, making them summertime favorites.

Gerbera

Gerberas are a variety of daisy that is one of the most popular flowers for floral bouquets. They are prized for their huge brightly colored blossoms and sturdy stems and can be found in shades of red, pink, orange, yellow, white, and purple. Because their stems don’t dry out like other cut flowers, Gerberas have an outstanding vase life that can last 10 days.

Orchid

Orchids are another favorite that often gets overlooked – possibly because they look like flowers but are actually blooming plants. Orchids vary widely in their appearance, but many are fragrant and feature bold vivid colors. Some varieties of orchids have beautiful distinctive stripes or spots. The most popular types of orchids available in store are Phalaenopsis (or Moth) orchids and Dendrobium orchids.

Scarlett’s Flowers is Your Local Bradenton, FL Florist

For over 100 years, local florists have provided their communities with flowers in order to make every occasion special. From the birth of new babies to weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, funerals, or even just because; small independent flower shops have been hand delivering wishes of hope and recovery along with recognition of some of life’s greatest accomplishments.

While many other industries have automated and streamlined, your local florist still does some things the old-fashioned way, like offering same-day delivery on every bouquet we design. We were in the delivery business long before Amazon – they’re catching up, but in most cases still can’t deliver your order as fast as we can. And they still haven’t figured out a way to deliver flowers without sticking them in a box.

No matter what the occasion, Scarlett’s Flowers is here to help you celebrate with a custom bouquet of flowers. Visit our shop located at 4225 26th St W, Bradenton, FL 34205. Order online at http://www.scarlettflowers.com or give us a call (the old-fashioned way) at (941) 792-2269 and our design team will be happy to select the perfect gift of flowers to fit any budget. For something extraordinary, consider an open “designer’s choice” bouquet. Simply tell us the price and we will design – and deliver – something beautiful.

Holidays

Don’t Forget Grandparents Day on Sunday, September 12

Sunny Sunflowers by Scarlett’s Flowers in Bradenton FL is a fantastic selection for Grandparents Day.

Grandparents Day is a national holiday or observance, celebrated each year on the first Sunday after Labor Day. This year it takes place on Sunday September 12. Contrary to popular misconception, Grandparents Day was not invented by greeting card companies, florists, restaurants, or any other business interest.

Instead, the origin of Grandparents Day can be traced back to 1956 when a mother from West Virginia named Marian McQuade helped organize a community celebration for people over 80 years of age. In doing so, she realized how many elderly care facility residents had been forgotten by their families.

She envisioned a holiday that would not only bring attention to the elderly population but would also honor all grandparents by celebrating the connections between generations. Her work paid off and in 1973 West Virginia became the first state to set aside a special day to celebrate grandparents. Three years later – in 1978 – her efforts resulted in Grandparents Day becoming a national holiday celebrated in every state.

Simple Celebration

Unlike many other popular holidays that honor people on a larger scale with parties and large gatherings, most Grandparents Day celebrations are small and intimate and often take place in homes, hospitals, and care facilities with close family members.

In fact, McQuade went to great lengths to keep the holiday less commercial and truer to its roots by refusing all donations and royalties associated with her efforts. She also spurned overtures from Hallmark who predicted that Grandparents Day would become the sixth biggest holiday on the calendar each year for greeting card sales.

Despite that, many families celebrate grandparents by giving gifts. Some families embrace the spirit of the holiday and encourage grandparents to share stories and give gifts to their grandchildren, especially personal gifts that celebrate special family traditions.

In most cases, family get-togethers do not need to be expensive or elaborate. The important thing is choosing activities the grandparent enjoys while fostering intergenerational connection. Sharing a simple meal or spending time to visit is enough to please most grandparents. Engaging with them by playing board games, cards, and puzzles are fun ways to spend time together. Grandparents Day is also a fantastic time to look at old pictures or share some family stories.

It Truly is the Thought That Counts

Perhaps the biggest reason why Grandparents Day has escaped commercial exploitation is because of holiday burnout. If that is truly the case, grandparents still should not let the occasion go by unnoticed. Most of the younger generation will be happy to participate even if they don’t have to plan. It is important to remember that true reason for holiday is to give grandparents a chance to show their love for – and spend their time with – their grandchildren.

If you are not able to get together in person, Grandparents Day is a terrific chance for you to call them, text them, video chat with them, or perhaps even write them a good old-fashioned hand-written letter or have your children draw some pictures for them to include in a card. Of course, you could also send them a beautiful bouquet of flowers from Scarlett’s Flowers. We have options for everyone, and a simple surprise delivery is an easy, convenient, and personal way to make a grandparent’s Grandparents Day special.

To some, it may seem like the summer flew by too fast while others have been counting the days until the new school year begins. Regardless of how you feel about your kids going back to school, we hope your summer was filled with adventure and learning experiences that can’t be taught in schools. If there are any nannies, babysitters, grandparents, aunts, uncles, camp counselors, clergy members or coaches who influenced your summer, flowers are always a perfect way to acknowledge and say thanks for their hard work and dedication.

Most of those people aren’t expecting gifts, so the gesture certainly isn’t necessary, but even a small token of your appreciation is a thoughtful way of showing gratitude that often means more to the recipient than the giver will ever realize.

Forget the apple

It’s 2021 – your teacher doesn’t want an apple unless it’s a phone or computer – so forget the fruit in favor of a beautiful bouquet of brightly-colored flowers instead. Flowers really are the perfect way to set the mood for the start of the school year while brightening up the classroom at the same time.

Teachers aren’t the only ones who enjoy flowers, however, so don’t forget bus drivers, teacher’s aides, facility members, crossing guards, and everyone else who makes the school a fun and inviting place to learn.
